What does this template/module do?

The UK Zen Cart template makes it quick and easy to change the standard Americanized version of Zen Cart in to a UK friendly version. Here is what it does:

• It saves you time! somewhere in the region of four to five hours
• it adds all of the UK counties to your database
• it creates a new template that uses the Zen Cart override system 'out of the box' - This will help save time when you next have to update your core shop software.
• it can be incorporated into your existing templates that uses the override system.
• all Americanized spellings are changed to UK spelling
• the weight 'lbs' is changed to 'kgs' - This means your shipping costs will be more accurate.
• changes the date of birth format from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy
• sets Zen Cart to the UK date and time format
• sets the default location for your shop to the UK
• adds the VAT zones to the UK and sets two VAT rates. The current VAT rate and VAT exempt zero rate.
• Sets the address format to display as we expect here in the UK
• Sets the UK as the default country of sign up for your new clients - saves them having to scroll down
• If your customers have mis-spelt their county it asks them to choose the correct county.
• Pre-populates the UK template with all of your side boxes. - Most templates leave out the side boxes.
• adds Republic of Ireland as a country and inserts the counties to the ROI
• adds the Channel Islands to the countries list
• As an option you can also add Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland to the countries list and then add the specific counties into those countries. Ideal for businesses who only want to deal in those localities or give customers in those countries a country specific option when creating an account.
