WordPress Social Networks Auto Poster (SNAP)

Normally when using WordPress you publish a post and if you are lucky you will also be able to notify your readers and friends at Twitter and Facebook that you have published something new on your blog. Social Networks Auto Poster from Nextscripts changes that in a big way.

At the time of writing SNAP can, directly from your WordPress blog, publish nicely formatted messages to ten (10) social networks. The list currently includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+(Google Plus), Blogger, LiveJournal, Delicious, Diigo, Stumbleupon, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Plurk, VKontakte(VK.com), WordPress, and Tumblr accounts. There are plans under foot to add more networks to that list.

The plugin works with profiles, business pages, community pages, groups, etc. and the advantages are numerous. Near or at the top of the list will be reaching the most audience with the least effort and letting all your friends, readers and followers know about your new post automatically.

There are also SEO benefits to be had when using this plugin sensibly, extra backlinks being one of them. But to me the biggest benefit is that it gets your message out there so you can drawn in prospective clients back to your site from a massive selection of popular social networks.

What’s The Cost?

The basic plugin is Free but you might want to (should if you are serious about getting ahead of your competition) strongly consider upgrading to the paid version to start with. The Google and Pinterest modules are both premium extras and the real benefit is that you can add multiple accounts when you go Pro. Essentially it allows you to update 100’s of accts at the same time – think about the power you’d have – Go Pro

Open Inviter – Contacts Importer

Back in February 2010 Octazen was acquired by Facebook and was lost to coders and marketers. Octazen was a really useful tool/script that allowed you to import your email contacts from email providers like Gmail, Hotmail and a host of others directly into your apps and programs, a bit like all the big boys such as FB and LinkedIn do now. There is however an open source Octazen alternative you may want to try. It’s called Open Inviter.  For those unaware of ‘Open Source’ it means ‘Free – as in beer’.
